Evaluation boards and kits
Ambiq’s evaluation platform includes: Apollo Evaluation Boards (EVBs) for Apollo, Apollo2, Apollo3 Blue, Apollo4 (Lite, Blue, Blue Plus, Plus), and Apollo5 (Apollo510), providing easy access to key interfaces, power modes, and debug headers. And Display and Sensor Add-On Boards, such as the Apollo4 Plus Display Kit and Apollo510 Display Add-On, offering vibrant graphical interfaces and intuitive system interaction.
The Apollo Evaluation Kit (EVK) typically integrates an Apollo EVB, a multi-axis MEMS sensor board, and a Bluetooth Low Energy add-on, creating a connected, sensor-capable development system straight out of the box. The Apollo4 Plus Display Kit combines the EVB with a high-resolution, round AMOLED display shield, ideal for developing human-machine interfaces (HMI) with embedded graphics and touch support.
Supported by the AmbiqSuite SDK, the evaluation kits include example code, device drivers, board support packages, and hardware debugging tools (like Segger J-Link) to simplify software development. Kits can be used with popular development environments such as GCC (via Eclipse), ARM Keil, and IAR Embedded Workbench. Display kit users can quickly get started with UI development using tools like Embedded Wizard, which support graphics accelerators like Apollo4’s NemaGFX and streamline GUI implementation.
