Battery-Powered Endpoint Devices EndpointAI Energy Efficiency IoT Recognition VoiceCommand

Austin, Texas —January 26, 2021— Ambiq today announced it has been named a winner in the 2021 BIG Innovation Awards presented by the Business Intelligence Group.

The Apollo4 SoC family is the 4th generation system processor solution built on Ambiq’s SPOT platform. With Apollo4 SoC, all battery-powered endpoint devices will now have the possibility to be always-on and to last for days, weeks, months, or years on one charge or standard lithium batteries.

“More than ever, the global society relies on innovation to help progress humanity and make our lives more productive, healthy and comfortable,” said Maria Jimenez, chief operating officer of the Business Intelligence Group. “We are thrilled to be honoring Ambiq as they are one of the organizations leading this change and helping humanity progress.”

“Endpoint IoT devices featuring always-on voice-processing require a next-generation system processor solution that balances both performance and energy efficiency,” said Scott Hanson, Founder and CTO of Ambiq. “We are honored that our Apollo4 System-on-Chip Family is recognized for delivering new levels of energy efficiency and blazing throughput with MRAM technology for AI at the endpoints.”

Organizations from across the globe submitted their recent innovations for consideration in the BIG Innovation Awards. Nominations were then judged by a select group of business leaders and executives who volunteer their time and expertise to score submissions.

About Ambiq

Ambiq was founded in 2010 with the mission to foster a cleaner, greener, and safer environment, where mobile and portable devices could either reduce or eliminate their total power consumption from the batteries. For the last ten years, we laser-focused on nothing but inventing and delivering the most revolutionary RTC and MCU solutions for the market. Through the advanced Subthreshold Power Optimized Technology (SPOT™) platform, Ambiq has helped many leading manufacturers around the world create products that can operate for days, months, and sometimes years with a single charge.

In 2020, we achieved our most significant milestone—over 75 million devices are embedded with an Ambiq chip. On the heels of this success, and the experience and know-how we’ve accumulated, we set out for another ambitious goal in the next decade. We aim to bring intelligence to all battery-powered endpoint devices and enable them to stay connected intuitively and unobtrusively, to create a real IoT era. We hope to partner with you on our next journey. Visit to learn more.
